About Host Matrix
HostMatrix.org is the realisation of a dream by the great 'Creator' (administrator's nick name).
Creator was once like everyone in the internet. He used to browse through websites, used to check his mails, used to have contacts through IMs or say he has everything to do with internet to waste his precious time. But one moment changed everything. One of those precious moments for every HM visitor, but a boring moment for Creator, he had nothing else to do. He opened and closed several websites, closed his browser out of frustration, logged out from his IM and was lying back when this beautiful thought of "Why should not I have a website?".
He jumped out of his seat, washed his face and sat before his computer. He was about to start a new journey, a new way to see the internet. He was about to begin his own website. But a little problem was there. He had no idea how. He searched Google for tutorials, articles, help files, guides and what ever he can think of starting a website, but with little success. Ofcourse there were these flashing links before him saying 'Start your own website in a second for just $$$ per month.' He had not a single coin with him.
Creator's time in the internet was again a waste for a few weeks, he was in search of something he was never going to find out. But then he shared his idea of having a website with one of his friends, 'Terminator' (co-administrator). This friend of his had some experience with webmastership and webprogramming, and guided Creator to the right track. He gave Creator a rough idea (courtesy to Terminator's poor skill to make someone understand what he tries to express.) about webmastering. From that conversation with Terminator, Creator now knew the direction he must follow. Terminator had also told him where to find free webhost and what all to look for in a host, though he had no idea what all those things were. That night while on IM Creator got the permission to use some webspace Terminator had but was not using. With guidance from Terminator he hosted his first page.
But Creator was not some one who stops were he reaches. His life is a journey in to new horizons. His desires are never ending. Once he got his site up, his new interest was on how hosting is done. Again Terminator gave him an unclear lecture on servers and data centers and various server softwares and server script engines and databases and mail servers and all. Flooded with the boring, but informative lecture by Terminator, Creator's new aim is to set up his own webserver. Terminator had given Creator a list of server programs he used while testing his own websites locally. Also, Creator now knew how to set up a local server. That night on IM, Terminator was horror struck when he recieved a URL from Creator, and was told that it was hosted on Creator's computer. But Creator had only internet access on nights and had to cop up with the dynamic IP his computer was having. The problem of dynamic IP was solved that night itself when Creator's search found result.
By this time, Terminator's free web space had gone and Creator's search for another free webhost was not fruitful. Also his search for knowledge on web mastership and web programming was finding its end on Terminator's IM box. Nothing was free. Ofcourse there were free webhosts and free tutorials, but everyone needed some favour back.
It has become Creator's aim to provide free (literally) services to those like him. With some amount he got from his relatives on Vishu (a festival where elder's give youngsters money.), he took a reseller account and started HostMatrix.
HostMatrix is now serving hundreds of people with quality free web hosting. HostMatrix asks them nothing in return. They may or may not come back to HostMatrix, HostMatrix don't care. They have freedom with their space.
Our motto is to provide free services to bring budding webmasters to light. With this great aim, we stand before you with open hearts and melting smile, to serve.
